Patrons will no Longer Need to Chase After the Ice Pop Cart!

MIAMI, FL — (November 13, 2012) — Mark your calendar for Dec. 1. That’s when Miami’s favorite mobile ice pop company, Feverish, will open its first retail store. Just in time to greet the Art Basel crowd, the new Shops at Midtown location will feature the company’s popular hand-crafted Fever Pops gourmet popsicles.

Since introducing its popsicles to the streets of Miami four years ago, the specialty ice cream maker has been steadily building its notoriety by creating super-premium quality adult ice pops while embracing a socially conscious philosophy.

With eclectic and fun flavors – like Salted Chocolate Coconut, Peach Habanero, Ginger Limeade, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Pumpkin Coconut Pie, Pineapple Basil, Apple Martini, a salt-flecked Margarita and a Mango Bourbon, to name a few – Feverish’s products are sweetened with organic evaporated cane juice and include all natural and organic ingredients; all the Fever Pops are vegan. “We felt it was time that the popsicle grew up,” said Felecia Hatcher, co-founder and Chief Popsicle Maker.

To celebrate Art Basel, Feverish will be unveiling a new signature line of treats under its Boozy Pops line, including Beer Pops with beer from local and regional breweries; Wine Pops, including Strawberry Balsamic, White Sangria Pop, Peach Bellini Pop; and additions to its Liquor Pops with Jack and Coke and Watermelon Ginger Vodka.

On Dec. 6, opening night of Art Basel, Miami pop artist Michael Perez will be on hand to unveil a new painting that will be permanently displayed at the new location. Known for his unique faces, flowers and figures, Perez will be signing limited edition prints of the original artwork for those who stop by. “I am very excited and honored to represent the Miami art movement as an artist and to create an original work of art celebrating Midtown Miami and the Shops at Midtown. It’s wonderful to see the evolution of Midtown,” said Perez.

In the coming months the new 2,100-square-foot storefront will house a full production facility, catering department and retail market. Customers will be able to choose from 25 different flavors, which will change weekly. There will be a karaoke stage, as well as indoor and outdoor seating. The catering department will continue to specialize in corporate and special events, setting up with carts, dessert stations and a butler pass service.

“We are so excited to have a stand-alone location!” exclaimed Hatcher. “This is definitely not your typical Baskin-Robbins. Just like with our carts, a portion of each popsicle we sell will go toward charity. And, just like our mini ice cream truck and carts that can be seen hanging out on the streets of South Florida, the store will fuse fashion, art, music and social awareness with America’s love affair for ice cream. We are heating up Midtown with a new hip twist to ice pops – an experience like never before, ” she continued.

Feverish Pops’ new location is 3252 NE 1st St. in Miami. For more information, visit online at www.feverishicecream.com or call 954.651.1346.

About Feverish Ice Cream

The ice cream industry was long overdue for a makeover when ice cream enthusiast Felecia Hatcher fell while attempting to chase an ice cream truck in high heels. Upon her decent to the ground she came up with the idea of a hip ice cream truck with upscale ice cream catering to adult events. In 2008, Hatcher and her husband, Derick Pearson, bought two tricycle carts they found on Craigslist and began peddling their way to sweet success

Today the specialty gourmet ice pop company is heating up the streets of South Florida and attracting clients like Google, Cadillac, Live Nation, J Crew, Tom Cruise, BB&T Bank, Universal Music, Cirque de Soleil, Playboy, Univision, Bacardi and the US Census Bureau. The company has been featured in Modern Luxury Magazine, Miami Herald, Entrepreneur.com, Inc.com, Daily Candy, Boston Globe, Budget Travel Magazine, Black Enterprise and Air Tran Magazine and on the “Today Show,” “The Cooking Channel,” “NBC Miami” and “Deco Drive.” In 2011, the company was honored at the White House for being one of the top 100 young entrepreneurs under 30.

The company donates a portion of each sale to local organizations through its Sweet Success outreach tour. The tour brings the husband and wife duo into local classrooms to work with students on high school completion, renewable energy, college prep and decreasing the youth unemployment epidemic through entrepreneurship training and a youth entrepreneurship partnership with Mount Olive in Fort Lauderdale, where kids ages 11 to 18 run their own Feverish cart and learn how to start and run their own business and create jobs for their peers. The company also donates to Kiva, an organization that provides micro-lending loans to women entrepreneurs in Third World countries.
