Celebrate Peruvian Independence Day like the locals with that country’s beloved spirit—pisco! Though the holiday is official celebrated on July 28th and 29th, festivities last all week long in Peru. Pisco is not only served generously in bars and restaurants, but the fountain in the main square of downtown Lima is filled with 2,000 liters of pisco, allowing citizens to enjoy the—literally—free flowing spirit!

Award-winning Portón is the first truly premium pisco available in the U.S. and makes for the perfect cocktail, either neat or mixed. Hacidenca La Caravedo, the distillery that makes Portón, is the oldest working distillery in all of the Americas. Celebrated pisco authority and Master Distiller, Johnny Schuler, created this mosto verde pisco of unmatched quality and taste that feature notes of cinnamon, orange blossom, and citrus.

On July 28th and 29th, SUSHISAMBA dromo (600 Lincoln Road, (305) 673-5337) in Miami is honoring the holiday with special Portón cocktails for $8 each! Stop by for Peru’s classic drink—a Pisco Sour (Portón, Egg White, and Lime), or try more adventurous drinks including a Chicha Sour (Portón, Chicha Morada, Cinnamon Syrup, and Organic Egg White), a Pisco-jito (Portón, Mint, Fresh Lime, and Houseman Mint Syrup), or a Peruvian Thyme (Portón, Housemade Thyme Syrup, Elderflower Liqueur, and Fresh Lime Juice).

Additionally, on July 28th El Gran Inka (in Aventura: 3155 Sunny Isles Boulevard, (305) 940-4910; in Brickell: 947 Brickell Avenue, (786) 220-7930) is offering $100 specials on Portón bottles.
