Ten Week Program to Offer South Florida the Best of the Gulf Coast’s Fruitful Bounty

Beginning Wednesday, March 26 and carrying on weekly through Wednesday, May 28, 2014, Chef/Owner Cesar Zapata and his fellow rouges at The Federal, Food, Drink and Provisions are bringing back Crawfish Wednesdays for Miami’s crustacean-loving crowds. Featuring fresh crawfish flown in live for each dinner, the ten week program allows diners to order their very own crawfish boil or pick from some of Chef Zapata’s unique crustacean creations. To wash it all down, The Feds are offering bottomless bubbles and beer – $15 during the restaurant’s hopping Happy Hour (5:00pm –7:00pm) and $20 during the rest of dinner service.

“It’s all about taking full advantage of the Gulf Coast’s fruitful bounty,” says Aniece Meinhold, owner of The Federal, Food, Drink and Provisions. “Cesar loves crawdaddies and creates such delicious dishes with them and we’re thrilled to offer South Florida a fresh taste of what they’d otherwise have travel to the Gulf Coast for.”

The crawfish bonanza includes mouthwatering menu items such as Saffron Scented Crawfish Fritters for $9, Momo's NoLa Gumbo, priced at $16, and The Federal’s house classic – Crawfish & Grits for $16.
Crawfish Wednesdays will take place weekly from 6:00pm--10:00pm. Reservation are recommended.
Owned and operated since January 2012 by husband and wife team Chef Cesar Zapata and Service Maven Aniece Meinhold, The Federal is a modern American tavern serving comfort food classics with an updated edge. Geared to be a neighborhood meeting point where folks congregate to enjoy great food and drink, the restaurant sources ingredients exclusively from American artisans. Describing their restaurant/concept as a celebration of American integrity, ingenuity and craftsmanship, Zapata and Meinhold make light of their demanding positions referring to themselves as “Stove Master and Pig Whisperer” (Zapata) and “Bar Wench and Pot Stirrer” (Meinhold). Born in Colombia, reared in North Carolina and taught his craft in Texas, Zapata creates good ol’ American comfort food classics, utilizing old world French techniques and infusing touches from his diverse upbringing. The restaurant offers Supper, Weekend Brunch, bottomless Happy Hour and a progressive bar program with innovative beer and wine cocktails.

Located at 5132 Biscayne Boulevard in the MiMo district, The Federal, Food, Drink & Provisions is open for Supper Tuesday–Thursday from 6:00pm – 10:00pm, Friday–Saturday from 6:00pm – 11:00pm and Sunday from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Their $15 Bottomless Happy Hour takes place Tuesday–Friday from 5:00pm-7:00pm. The Boozy Weekend Brunch is Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30am – 3:30pm. Parking is free Tuesday–Thursday in front and rear parking lots; $3 Valet Parking offered on weekends
