Since opening in April 2013, Tongue & Cheek has attracted celebrity chefs including Geoffrey Zakarian, Masaharu  Morimoto and Norman Van Aken, and captured the hearts and palates of South Florida’s cadre of food and wine enthusiasts with its ingredient-driven menu and handcrafted libations.  Now, chef/owner Jamie DeRosa is celebrating his innovative South Beach restaurant’s one-year anniversary – Tuesday, April 15 through Sunday, April 20, with a series of well-priced food and drink offerings.  Reflecting DeRosa’s whimsical cuisine, anniversary specials served at lunch and dinner will include delicious and aptly named beef cheek sliders ($2 each) and $4 T&C Classic Whiskey Sour, expertly poured by resident mixologist Sarah Welch.  Additionally, dinner guests will receive complimentary, salted pretzel ice cream with cashew praliné, coffee cake and blackberry.

T&C will also offer a special anniversary 5-course prix-fixe dinner menu ($65 per person, excluding tax and gratuity), that will be comprised of some of the restaurant’s first year’s most popular dishes.  Choices could include Cauliflower Panna Cotta with pickled vegetables and American caviar; Crisp Lamb Belly with barbecued octopus, roasted eggplant and romanesco; Roasted Trout with sweet corn, piquillo pepper and fregola; Fried Clams with smoked aioli, pickled + raw cherry peppers, among many others. Stay tuned to T&C’s social media next week when guests and fans of the restaurant will be asked to suggest which classic, year one dishes they would like to see on the menu during the celebratory week. Tongue & Cheek is located at 431 Washington Avenue.  Lunch is served 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.  Dinner is served nightly from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday; ‘til midnight on Friday & Saturday.  Happy Hour specials available nightly from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Street and valet parking available.
