Those that are lucky have stumbled upon a Feverish Ice Cream cart at an event around town. Over the past four years, the company has garnered worldwide recognition for being an innovative leader in the frozen treat world. What started as just two tricycles bought on Craigslist, has grown into a Miami success story and just keeps getting bigger. On December 1, 2012, Feverish Pops opened the doors at a new store in the buzzy Shops at Midtown Miami.

The legend goes Feverish founder Felecia Hatcher fell while trying to chase down an ice cream truck in high heels. Thinking that no one should be put through such an experience, her and her husband decided to revolutionize frozen treats. Catering to adult events, they appropriately serve up grown-up popsicles in flavors like Peanut Butter & Jelly, Pumpkin Coconut Pie, Pineapple Basil and Apple Martini. All include all natural and organic ingredients and are vegan.

Inside the shops, guests will find an offering of 10 to 25 rotating flavors to choose from, along with some other sweets from local vendors like Om Nom Nom Cookies and Yummy ChunBuns. Just in time for Art Basel, Feverish is unleashing a new signature line of treats under its Boozy Pops line, including Beer Pops with beer from local and regional breweries; Wine Pops, including Strawberry Balsamic, White Sangria Pop, Peach Bellini Pop; and additions to its Liquor Pops with Jack and Coke and Watermelon Ginger Vodka.

On opening night of Art Basel, December 6, Miami pop artist Michael Perez will unveil a new painting that will be permanently displayed at the new location. Known for his unique faces, flowers and figures, Perez will be signing limited edition prints of the original artwork for those who stop by. This might be a great time to check out the shop while soaking in the Basel scene.

In the future, the team will house a full production facility in the back, along with a catering department, retail market and karaoke stage. They also plan on furthering their various charitable missions including Pop Renewers, a program that teaches girls in Broward how to run their own business through the donation of an ice cream cart.

No longer do we need to go and chase down the ice cream man, instead, make your way to Feverish Pops… And you can even wear high heels.
