I love this property, the Blue Moon Hotel in South Beach is a classic building of Art Deco combined with Mediterranean Revival architecture. The location is excellent as it is in the middle of all the action yet one block away from Ocean drive so expect a more relax atmosphere.
I met chef David Welch and was delighted to try some of his dishes. I tried three sliders; the ropa vieja which was a Cuban style braised beef, Spanish rice cake with roasted tomatillo salsa. A kobe beef and a short rib one with vidalia onion confit and braising sauce. My favorite one was the ropa vieja, the meat was tender and juicy and the flavor of the tomatillo salsa had an accent but was not too noticeable.
What is so nice about this place is how the dining room is set up with a rustic feeling. They have a small patio in the back with a pool, a very intimate spot. The floors is something I love as they are those Mexican tiles that my mother also has in her house so here I feel right at home.
