Just in time for high season, one of Miami’s coolest destinations, Wynwood Kitchen & Bar (WKB), featuring an exciting blend of cutting edge urban street art and innovative global-Latino cuisine by recently appointed chef Miguel Aguilar, is offering lunch service, Monday - Saturday, 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., beginning Tuesday, November 15. The lunch menu will include a palette of delicious and affordable small plates, including Aguilar’s crisp tropical salads, hearty soups, tasty skewers, juicy meats, savory seafood, veggie small plates and chef’s daily express lunch specials. A new Happy Hour, “Beers & Bites,” Monday-Friday, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., will offer a selection of bite sized items from the menu at an appealing $2.00 each, and 30% discounts on a full range of artisanal beers, select house brand liquors and wines.
On offer for lunch will be Chef Miguel’s hearty and delicious black bean soup, topped with cilantro crema, and several salads; including a delicious iceberg wedge with bacon, tomatoes, carrots, red onions and blue cheese vinaigrette and a refreshing tropical mix of avocado, hearts of palm, artichokes, shaved local carrots and tomatoes dressed with a Latin spiced balsamic emulsion. A variety of cool plates, perfect for a light lunch or a shared appetizer, includes pico verde, a tomatillo salsa with house-made tortilla chips; creamy hummus served with roasted peppers, cucumber and warm pita, and herb-garlic marinated peppers with Grana Padano cheese and a baguette crostini.
Hot dishes include chef’s signature chicken ropa vieja empanadas and crispy lemon-pepper calamari, with spicy marinara sauce, and pepperoncini. Also available are four tasty skewers: chicken with grilled scallions and chipotle aioli; juicy skirt steak with chimichurri; shrimp with aji amarillo vinaigrette and octopus with black olive tapenade. Veggie small plates include roasted local mushrooms with rosemary and garlic; Brussel sprouts with bacon and caramelized onions; crispy chorizo fingerling hash browns; crunchy flash fried bok choy and a heavenly plate of fried maduros (plantains) with queso fresco and nata (crema).
Heartier meat, fish and poultry dishes include a savory braised short rib with sautéed spinach and herb salad; juicy pork tenderloin served with shallot gravy and apple-jicama slaw; large scallops with crispy polenta, tomatoes and feta, and pan seared snapper with corn salsa and a delicate fennel herb salad. For diners on a tight schedule, a daily lunch express special will also be offered.
Lunch, launched on Tuesday, November 15, will be served Monday – Saturday.
