Coral Gables, FL – On Monday evening, September 24th, Miami-Dade business leaders are going out to dinner – literally - as an entire community to stimulate our local economy.
Dine Out! is a collaborative effort supported by the leadership of 11 business organizations under the Coalition of Chambers umbrella, including Chamber South, Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce, Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Doral Business Council, Homestead/Florida City Chamber of Commerce, North Dade Chamber, Miami-Dade Beacon Council, the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association.
The community-wide Dine Out! Program supports local restaurants and small businesses by coming together as community leaders and dining out for a great cause! This effort synergizes the success of the Miami Spice program each summer and further shines a spotlight on our restaurants.
The leaders and members of the various organizations in the Coalition of Chambers will fan out across their respective neighborhoods and patronize their favorite local restaurants on Monday, September 24th for dinner (between 6pm – 9pm).
The Dine Out! Program also celebrates the final week of Miami Spice, the much heralded restaurant program created by the GMCVB more than a decade ago that features prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner.
The Coalition encourages business leaders to postpone lunch meetings until dinner on Monday night, move Friday night date-nights up to Monday evening, switch their plans to eat out with friends next week to Monday night, and bring their family, colleagues, neighbors, associates and co-workers to the Dine Out!
“Our restaurants are a vital part of the small business community across Miami-Dade County and many continue to feel the challenges of a slowly recovering economy,” said Mark A. Trowbridge, president & CEO of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce. “The Dine Out! Program signals the final week of Miami Spice and reminds everyone how important it is to support our restaurants now and throughout the year.”
This is the fourth year that the Coalition of Chambers has promoted the Dine Out! program, supporting restaurants from Aventura to Homestead.
A similar program was spearheaded by the Miami-Dade Beacon Council and the GMCVB after 9/11 when tourism was dramatically affected by the tragedies of that day. In the latest iteration of the Dine Out! program, our economy continues to be challenged by the slower than expected recovery and the leaders of our business community agree that taking a collective action synergizes our success.
The leadership of the Coral Gables Chamber will be doing a progressive dinner on Monday evening around Coral Gables to visit and patronize several restaurants in promotion of the Dine Out! Program and our restaurant community.
The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce represents more than 1,500 members and is the second largest Chamber in Miami-Dade County. Our mission is to foster and enhance the economic interests of the Coral Gables community, while advancing the quality of life of our members, partners, neighbors and visitors.
