Fashion – Food – Design. “Tre eccellenze” – the three renowned beacons of ‘Made in Italy’ – will make its way to Miami Beach just in time to celebrate the New Year at Cavalli Restaurant & Lounge, which is scheduled to open late 2013. Owned and conceptualized by internationally celebrated couturier, Roberto Cavalli, South Beach’s newest go-to hotspot will be situated in a plush villa located in the city’s iconic Art Deco neighborhood at 150 Ocean Drive. The dining, entertainment and celebrity destination will feature a menu of traditional Italian cuisine, infused with Tuscan influences, as well as innovative ‘new-style’ dishes. With an upscale and sensual setting, the legendary fashion mogul’s newest venture will exude a blend of Italy’s sense of elegance and Miami’s unmistakable vibrancy.
“I wanted to combine my passion for beauty and sensuality and with that, create a unique hospitality project in Miami,” explains Cavalli. “The pleasure of listening to enjoyable music accompanied by great food in good company is what Cavalli Restaurant & Lounge is all about.”
To open the Miami Beach location of Cavalli Restaurant & Lounge, a worldwide brand of luxury and distinction with locations in Milan and Dubai, the designer and his team enlisted the aid of renowned restaurant and nightlife impressarios Karim Masri and Nicola Siervo of KNR Hospitality Group.
Collaboratively designed by Cavalli and Italian-based architect, Italo Rota, the two-story restaurant and lounge will reflect Casa Cavalli’s style of luxury and innovation. Guests will be treated to a complete Cavalli design experience, while surrounded by the designer’s signature elements – zebra and jaguar printed chairs; floral patterned tablecloths; mise en place; pillows; wallpaper and floors, which are all part of the Roberto Cavalli Home Collection.
Featuring a welcoming, intimate dining room on the ground floor, and outdoor seating on the largest terrace of any South Beach dining destination, guests can expect an authentic Italian dining experience with a menu showcasing flavors as bold as the designer’s fashion patterns. At the helm of the kitchen will be executive chef Stefano Mazzi, whose Tuscan roots and three decades of traditional Italian cooking in restaurants across the globe inspired much of the menu. Guests can start the night off with an array of delectable appetizers such as Mediterranean octopus with pantelleria’s capers and Tuscan oil or Marzara yellowfin tuna with taggiasca olives and citrus jam. Tantalizing primi plates include selections of gnocchi casarecci with blue crab meat and lobster zabaione; carnaroli risotto with Ligurian prawns and organic curry; and gnudi pasta with a brown butter sage sauce. Secondini offerings range from organic rack of lamb ossobuco alla Milanese to Spanish dover sole alla mugnaia. To complement the opulent cuisine, diners can enjoy Tenuta Degli Dei, a red wine produced at the Cavalli Family’s Tuscan winery.
Cavalli’s soul and spunk is captured in the chic, sexy lounge, perched on the second floor of the villa. Perfect for a night on the town or for hosting exclusive, fashionable soiree’s, the lounge will be home to an incredible lineup of music entertainment while offering guests ‘fashion on the rocks’ featuring the designer’s self-titled vodka and an array of sexy libations.
