As a burger enthusiast, I’m always looking out for the next new burger that can top the last one. As of now, the only that has not been beaten has been ROK:BRGR. This restaurant is considered a gastropub, and the one that I visited was located in South Miami. Previously a Segafredo, the relatively new restaurant has been getting a lot of praise from my friends who live around that area. Seeing how everyone kept raving about their burgers, I decided to give my input and try it out myself. There, my friend and I started off by sharing the fried calamari tossed in sweet chili sauce and cherry peppers. It was surprisingly spicy, but tasty nonetheless. I washed it all down with the inhouse concoction called “Peach Cobbler” which was peach vodka, frangelico, a splash of cream, and graham crumbles rimmed the cup. After a short wait, we had our burgers served; I had something called the “King James” burger. It was made up of angus beef and it had brie cheese, kurobuta pork belly, red onion marmalade, and truffle aioli. Needless to say, it was delicious. Paired with the burger, I ordered the truffle fries that were sprinkled with parmesan cheese and parsley -- also very good. My friend had the “Morning Glory” which was a basic burger, but with American cheese, maple pepper bacon, and a fried egg. Hers was as equally delicious, the bacon adding extra savoriness thanks to the peppercorn.

I definitely recommend this place not only for their burgers, but overall service and atmosphere. The restaurant had an intimate setting; small, dimly lit, and had music blasting from the walls, and their TVs playing the current sports game on. Most of their indoor seating were high tops, but regular seating was available outdoors as well. Prices were reasonable; the burgers were huge and ranged from $11-16, and we went on a Monday when burgers were half off!
