FL - South Florida PBS (WPBT & WXEL) announces the premiere of season 19 of Check, Please! South Florida with host, celebrity chef and restaurateur Michelle Bernstein.
In each episode of Check, Please! South Florida, host Chef Michelle Bernstein is joined by a panel of everyday food critics, detailing their own experiences at three local restaurants of their choice. This season, they highlight the melting pot that is South Florida, featuring restaurants from South Miami-Dade to Fort Pierce that celebrate cuisine from around the world, including Japan, Korea, Peru, Argentina, Italy, Ethiopia, Greece, India and more!
"Once again, it is my incredible pleasure to be able to showcase the wonderful eclectic cuisine that we are able to enjoy here in South Florida. I love having the ability to shine a spotlight on the passionate and hard-working restaurateurs and chefs in our community and to hear about our neighborhood’s gastronomic gems directly from our viewers," says Chef Michelle Bernstein.
Check Please! South Florida offers regular people the opportunity to be a restaurant reviewer for a day. It also gives local restaurateurs the chance to take center stage and tell viewers about the passion behind their profession. In each episode, Michelle also prepares a quick recipe, demonstrating her own take on trendy menu items.
"South Floridians turn to South Florida PBS to learn about our community and its diverse cultures, stories, music and gastronomy. Food has a way of bringing people together to share stories through conversations around the dining table while listening and learning from each other. Through Check, Please! South Florida we are proud to create another platform for people to connect while enjoying great food,” said Joyce Belloise, Senior Vice President of Content and Community Partnerships.
Viewers can revisit past reviews, learn a new recipe, or even apply to be a guest on the show's website: www.checkpleasefl.com. They can also follow the show on Facebook and Instagram @CheckPleaseFL.
