The NBA’s most intriguing second round matchup between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat is spilling over from the hardwood to the wood burning oven in two of the respective franchises favorite hometown Italian restaurants. Sosta Pizzeria Enoteca, a Lincoln Road favorite for delicious crusty pies and Nebo Ristorante and Enoteca, located just blocks from where the Celtics play, have laid down a culinary challenge over bragging rights for the best hoops team and the tastiest pizza.
The Challenge: If the Heat win the series, Nebo employees will have to wear Heat jerseys and bring the heat by offering Sosta’s spicy Diavola pizza – tomato sauce, mozzarella and spicy Italian salami – on its menu for one night. The same rings true for Sosta if the Celtics pull off a series win.
“We are huge sports fans and love The Heat,” proclaims Sosta executive chef Nicola Carro. “I’ll be happy to put one of our pizzas on nebo’s menu once Miami takes the series.”
“We’re die-hard Celtics fans and are thrilled to share the excitement of the series with our restaurant friends in Miami,” says Nebo’s Christine Pallotta. “I’d hate to have to wear a Lebron jersey so I’m counting on Rondo and the boys to turn things around pretty quickly.”
As if there wasn’t already enough excitement surrounding the series between two of the NBA’s most prolific franchises, nebo and Sosta’s Conference Semifinal challenge will surely add fuel to the fire.
