SoFi Café is a new option in South Beach to fuel your body the right way. For being such a health conscious part of Miami, South Beach has extremely limited options when it comes to clean eating. Sure, there are restaurants serving sustainable food and using high quality ingredients, but most eating options in the area are restricted to rich, albeit, delicious food. Whether it is going out for some cocktails or for a small snack, you are sure to consume more food than you actually would prefer. Luckily, the South Pointe of the beach (also known as the area where locals live) offers more variety when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Here, you can find stores such as Jugofresh, Puravida, and now, SoFi Café.
SoFi has been open for a couple of months now and is beginning to garner attention from locals throughout. Just like any other newly opened restaurant, they have gone through some menu changes but have somehow managed to maintain their concept at heart. They are here to provide you with clean and healthy food that doesn’t fall into the boring category. Having access to fresh ingredients such as acai, coconut, and pineapple is a gift we should embrace, and SoFi is doing just that.
Plain and simple, the star at this petite café is the Acai Bowl. Depending on the variety you choose, the Acai Bowl comes packed with a cornucopia of fruit and granola that makes for a refreshing and filling meal. This is unmodified produce at its finest, giving you the impression that food that’s this good does not need to be complicated. The same concept goes behind the fresh juices and smoothies, which are made to order and are substantial enough to be considered a small meal. The amount of fruit packed into these drinks are enough to make up your recommended daily intake of fruits, and it sure doesn’t hurt that they are full of flavor as well.
For those looking for something other than fruit, wraps and rice bowls are available. Although options are limited to lean chicken, shrimp, and fish, the staff manages to provide a sizeable enough meal that will have you feeling good about what you just ate. The shrimp wrap, which is composed of shrimp, avocado, greens, and chipotle sauce, was tasty. If I had one complaint, it’d be that I would have wanted a larger portion of shrimp, but the rest of the ingredients were fresh and delightful enough to forgive such a shortcoming.
As mentioned previously, SoFi is all about freshness and healthy eating. So if you’re looking for a place in the beach to eat clean, this may be your new favorite spot.
