Complimentary Admission To July’s Snail Social At The Brick

Slow Food Miami Hosts Snail Social At The Brick

Miami, FL (July 5, 2017) Slow Food Miami continues its “Snail Social” summer series on Tuesday, July 11 from 6-8PM at The Brick, a newly-opened farm-to-table restaurant in Downtown Dadeland.

Corey Bousquet, owner of The Brick, really wanted to create a space that guests felt comfortable in and can call their own. The decor is rustic, with white string lighting and a massive reclaimed wood pergola. He designed the kitchen to be open and expose the open flames of their brick oven, allowing guests to truly be immersed in the full dining experience.

Attendees can enjoy a welcome cocktail of their choice from The Brick’s new “Cocktails with a Conscience” drink and wine list; followed by a limited Happy Hour menu with seasonal selections and cocktail list at a discounted rate. Four complimentary bites will also be available for attendees. Selections include:

● Fresh Ceviche Shooters with Mahi Mahi, Yellowtail, and Key West Pink Shrimp

● Heritage Pork Sliders, topped with a house-made caramelized bourbon barbeque sauce - a.k.a. ‘Brick Sauce”, on a Zak The Baker Mini-Brioche

● Pesto Key West Shrimp and Cherry Tomato Skewers

● Avocado Endive Salad with Lime con Leche dressing
Guests can extend Happy Hour and take advantage of the exclusive Slow Food offer - 20% off dinner for guests staying after the social!

This event is free and open to the public. RSVP here.

The Brick is located at 8955 SW 72nd Place, Miami. Phone: (786) 814-5909. thebrickmiami.com

There will be a Snail Social hosted by different Snail of Approval chefs and restaurants throughout Miami on the second Tuesday of every month. Other participating chefs and restaurants will be announced throughout the season via Slow Food Miami’s mailing list and social media tagged with #snailsocial.
About The Brick
The Brick recently opened in the revitalized Downtown Dadeland area and boasts reclaimed wood and greenery with a rustic feel. It was founded by Mr. Corey Bousquet, who began his career in the restaurant and hospitality industry at the age of 13. A decade later, Corey’s passion lead him to the opening of The Brick, a farm-to-table style restaurant with a focus on the freshest, most vibrant and local ingredients and building employee and clientele relationships.

About Snail of Approval
The Slow Food Miami Snail of Approval Award is not unlike the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval in that it helps guide South Floridians and visitors to food that is good, clean and fair by identifying and honoring those producers, purveyors and artisans who contribute to the quality, authenticity and sustainability of the food we eat and the beverages we drink in Miami. Quality is fundamental – food must taste good and be good for us. Quality includes: the freshness and wholesomeness of ingredients. Authenticity means that the food is true to its source, from local growers and producers. Sustainability means that we must pay attention to the consequences of how we produce and distribute food. Nominations are based on known restaurants and chefs who actively source local produce and ingredients within our farming community. Nominations are then reviewed by the Slow Food Miami Snail of Approval Committee, who also conduct on-site visits and follow up calls to farmers.

About Slow Food Miami
Slow Food Miami is the local chapter of Slow Food USA, a national non-profit dedicated to supporting good, clean and fair food for all. We support our local community from the ground up – from the Edible School & Community Gardens we plant to encourage the enjoyment of food that is local, seasonal and sustainably grown; to the local growers and artisan food makers we support for their use of sustainable methods. Through culinary, educational events and fundraising we support our Edible School & Community Garden Program, and aim to also raise awareness of good, clean and fair food as a cornerstone of pleasure, culture & community.
