Miami Beach is getting a new pizza destination this fall, and it is already receiving national attention before opening its doors.
Royale Pizza Napoletana, an upcoming pizzeria on Miami Beach, has been named one of Robb Report’s “15 Most Exciting Restaurant Openings in America This Fall.” The recognition puts the new restaurant on the radar of pizza lovers and Miami food enthusiasts ahead of its highly anticipated October debut.
Located at 1680 Meridian Avenue, Royale Pizza Napoletana will introduce South Florida to its take on Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizza, combining traditional Neapolitan techniques with the precision and attention to detail associated with Tokyo’s renowned pizza scene.
One of the biggest draws of Royale Pizza Napoletana is the team behind the concept.
At the center of the restaurant is Chef Bun, known for his work at Tokyo’s legendary Savoy. His arrival in Miami marks his stateside debut and brings his approach to Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizza to South Florida.
Chef Bun will be joined by Jess Varughese, the entrepreneur and restaurateur behind Miami’s members-only dining concept Haiku.
The culinary team also includes Albert Diaz, Haiku’s Executive Chef and a former chef at Zuma London and Zuma Miami, as well as pizzaiola Dalila Sabatino, who has worked with both Chef Bun and William Joo of Pizzeria Sei.
Together, the team is bringing a highly focused approach to pizza to Miami Beach.
Royale will be a 65-seat, fast-casual-style restaurant designed around a relatively simple idea: excellent pizza made with carefully developed dough and high-quality ingredients.
The restaurant’s dough will be fermented for more than 30 hours, giving the crust time to develop its flavor and texture before being baked in an 800-degree oven.
The menu will be tightly curated, keeping the focus on the pizza rather than offering an overwhelming number of options.
Guests will be able to enjoy Royale through walk-in dining, takeout and delivery once the restaurant opens.
What makes Royale particularly interesting is the combination of experienced Miami hospitality professionals with talent coming directly from Tokyo’s pizza scene.
Tokyo has developed a reputation for exceptional Neapolitan pizza, with chefs taking traditional Italian techniques and approaching them with an incredible level of precision. Bringing that style to Miami Beach offers something new for the city’s already diverse pizza scene.
The restaurant’s national recognition from Robb Report also makes it one of the Miami restaurant openings to watch this fall.
And considering Royale has earned a spot on the publication’s list before even opening, expectations are already high.
Royale Pizza Napoletana is expected to open in October 2026 at:
1680 Meridian Avenue
Miami Beach, FL
The restaurant will offer walk-in dining, takeout and delivery.
For Miami locals, pizza lovers and anyone interested in the city’s growing culinary scene, Royale Pizza Napoletana is definitely one to keep an eye on this fall.
As Miami continues to welcome new restaurants and chefs from around the world, Royale’s Tokyo-meets-Neapolitan approach is another example of how the city’s food scene continues to evolve.
