I’m a native Miamian and alumnus of the New World School of the Arts where I studied Music & Theatre and later was accepted in the B.F.A. Theatre program there. I have worked professionally in virtually every facet of the performing arts for over a decade and have sat on several advisory boards for local not-for-profit arts organizations throughout South Florida.  I also worked for the U.S. Census Bureau for over seven years and was a local media spokesperson for the 2010 Census campaign in Miami-Dade County.

I was recently awarded a Bachelor of Science in Communication (Summa Cum Laude) with a Minor in Travel and Tourism Management, and I am currently a graduate student and teaching assistant in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Florida International University where I am studying Global Strategic Communication.

Over the last 11 years, I have found yet another passion in guiding tours.  Having worked at the Historical Museum of Southern Florida (Now History Miami) for several years back in the 90’s, I started conducting Miami city tours for Norwegian Cruise Line passengers with their onshore excursion programs in 2004, armed with an encyclopedic knowledge of our rich local history under the tutelage of renowned local historian Dr Paul George.  Since then, I have guided and lectured for Road Scholars International (formerly ElderHostel), Collette Vacations, YMT Vacations, Abercrombie & Kent, and Cuba Travel Services, among others.

As the only “A.B.C.” (American-Born Cuban) on staff, we can comfortably talk about the proper sofrito in an empanada or a black bean soup over a strong cup (or two) of cafecito cubano.
