On Monday, November 11, 2013 culinary darling Paula DaSilva of 3030 Ocean will delight members of the James Beard House with a six-course “Chefs & Farmers Celebration” dinner featuring an all-star lineup of talented female toques from around the country to serve an autumnal menu highlighting each chef’s favorite local farm or culinary artisan.
“I wanted to assemble a group of my female colleagues who adhere to the same credo of using locally-sourced product and artisanal purveyors,” explains DaSilva. “Being from different parts of the country, I thought it would be great to showcase fall flavors and ingredients from various regions.”
DaSilva and her sous chef Adrienne Grenier will kick off the evening with an array of pass hors d’oeuvres highlighting the wonderful product from Swank Specialty Produce and Paradise Farms. Additional courses include Ali Goss of Parallel Post in Trumbull, Connecticut showcasing Gilbertie Herb Gardens and Benton’s Smoky Mountain Country Hams; Delray Beach’s lovely Lindsay Autry of Sundy House with Swank Specialty Produce offerings; Brooke Mallory of Asador in Dallas with ingredients from Hudspeth Farms and Tassione Farms; Lauren Deshields of Fort Lauderdale’s Market 17 with Seely’s Ark and Huma Nagi, pastry chef at 3030 Ocean, highlighting Paradise Farms.
Each stellar course will be paired with cocktails and wines carefully selected by Dimitra Tsourianais, owner of Daddy Jones in Somerville, Massachussets.
Tickets are still available for the six-course dinner with wine/cocktail pairings at the James Beard House and pre-dinner reception for just $130/person for James Beard members and $170/person for non-members. Tickets can be purchased online: http://www.jamesbeard.org
