WHO/WHAT: South Florida’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry – the region’s leading culinary benefit to end childhood hunger – is taking place on Friday, May 12. The 29th annual tasting benefit will feature over 60 celebrated food and drink destinations under one roof at Wynwood’s Soho Studios from 7PM to 10PM. First-time Chef Chair Timon Balloo will lead the soirée alongside Honorary Founding Chair Chef Allen Susser.
South Florida’s top gastronomic tastemakers will deliver a wide array of delectable fares, libations and delicious desserts. This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, featuring an Instant Wine Cellar, a silent auction with swanky packages, a Citi Lounge area, an “Urban Beer Garden” and the first ever Taste of the Nation Speakeasy featuring mixologists from Alter, Beaker & Gray, Better Days, Bitter Truth, Repour Bar and Wynwood Diner. In support of No Kid Hungry, nationally acclaimed music group, The Strumbellas, will perform a special acoustic set during the event, presented by Citi. The festivities will continue with an exclusive after party for VIP ticket holders and chef participants at nearby R House Wynwood from 10:30PM to midnight.

No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger in this nation by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. Already, No Kid Hungry and its partners have connected kids struggling with hunger with 500 million meals. In 2016, South Florida’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry raised enough to help feed children in need more than 700,000 healthy meals. Local beneficiaries include Florida Impact, FLIPANY and Feeding South Florida.
