Newcomer Playa Brings a Taste of the Mediterranean to Miami Beach

MIAMI, FL – December 15, 2021 — Show Hospitality, the team behind Midtown’s vibey Mykonos meets Tulum-inspired enclave Maü Miami, is set to debut its latest restaurant, Playa, this December 21st. The new Southern Mediterranean concept is coming to the Sterling Building, a mixed-use complex in the heart of South Beach on Lincoln Road. Located just a few blocks off the beach, Lincoln Road Mall is South Florida's famous outdoor shopping and alfresco dining experience. Playa will be housed in an expansive 4,400-square-foot space, not including the beautiful outdoor terrace where guests can enjoy the ocean breeze and fabulous people-watching.

Slated to open Tuesday, December 21st, 2021, Playa aims to transport guests to the Mediterranean coast with a menu that celebrates fresh regional flavors and premium, wholesome ingredients. Playa’s airy indoor-outdoor dining areas will invite guests to enjoy a comforting yet elegant lunch or dinner surrounded by soothing tropical greenery and nature-inspired decor. Imagine dining in a lush environment with bamboo imported from Tulum, leather seating, and hanging pendants, where waterfalls arch from the ceilings and provide the soundtrack to your meal. When the sun sets, Playa takes cues from its lively SoBe neighborhood, transforming into an exhilarating experience complete with live music and unique entertainment.

The menu is a fusion of classic Mediterranean cuisine and familiar Southern fare, showcasing bold flavors and quality ingredients that come together to create a memorable dining experience in the heart of South Beach. Highlights of Playa’s unique menu consisting of fresh-cut, high-end meats, seafood specialties, and southern delights include the Blackened Catfish & Grits, Lobster Ravioli, Crab Cakes, and a Cajun Ribeye. Guests can also select from many Mediterranean-inspired dishes like the Grilled Lamb Skewers, and Seafood Towers. Playa will offer many Mediterranean favorites, ranging from Fresh Whole Fish to Seafood Mac and Cheese, and a signature Kosher Filet Mignon. Choose from a wide selection of small bites, soup, salads, and entrees. Aside from the food menu, Playa also boasts an extensive wine and champagne list to pair perfectly with the dishes.

From the laid-back ambiance to the breathtaking decor, guests will be able to soak up some major tropical vibes at this new fine dining restaurant and outdoor terrace.
