Its modern and authentic style is the perfect Mexican escape, and the bar’s edgy artwork and ambience enhances its delicious menu. Plomo Tequila & Taco Bar, an Atomic Group creation by Ionnis Sotiropoulos, Makis Paliouras and Fernando Ferro, will open in the beginning of July and is located on 230 Miracle Mile, near its sister locations Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar and Copper 29.
The ambiance at the new location is meant to make you feel like you’ve transported to Mexico with wood walls, skull designs, cactuses across the room and a plant-covered ceiling.
Tacos, the main star of the show at Plomo, come in a variety of ways depending on your meat (or no meat), taco shell, heat and topping preference. With 11 taco options varying from chicken, steak, pork, seafood, vegetarian and egg, there’s an option for everyone. Try the El Muro made with pork marinated in a pastor sauce, pineapple, onions and cilantro; the El Guero made with beer battered shrimp, creamy chipotle aioli, and pickled onions served on a flour tortilla; the El No Mames with potato, eggs and chorizo; or the El Taco Volador made with salmon or tuna tartar with habanero salsa and chipotle aioli – just to name a few. Tacos range from $3 to $4.5 per taco. Other menu options include fresh salads, plates to share for the table and desserts.
