Mini-Me Science Returns this Fall

The health of our guests and staff is our number one priority. Face coverings are required in all indoor spaces for all guests, ages 2 and older, including those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine. Guests not complying with the indoor face covering policy may be asked to leave.

Our special programming series for you and your little one is back!

You'll be surprised what your littlest learners can discover when they join us for our special Mini-Me Science programming series, designed for children ages two to five. At Mini-Me Science, you can work together with your emerging Einstein to observe scientific phenomena, conduct experiments, and create science-inspired art.

Mini-Me Science takes place on the second Sunday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Become a Member today and save.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, Mini-Me Science class sizes will be extremely limited and all participants, ages 2 and older, must wear a self-provided face covering at all times. Pre-registration is required to ensure enrollment.

  Sunday, October 10: Vanishing Ghosts
You and your littlest ecologists can explore the spooky side of science as you discover solutions to the growing problem of trash. It isn't all tricks, of course - you'll learn all about recycling, then use biodegradable materials to decorate your own ghost and watch it disappear. Make ecoliteracy a family affair as you work together to build sustainable solutions.

  Sunday, November 14: Autumn Leaves
You and your little one will fall for this hands-on exploration of trees and leaves. Young naturalists will get the chance to identify what trees need for survival and then conduct experiments on leaf capillary action to create take-home art projects. Join us for science so fun, it’s almost unbeleafable.

☃️ Sunday, December 12: Igloo Engineering
Cold weather is snow problem for animals living in the coldest places on Earth. You and your budding engineer will explore adaptations for staying warm, and then work together to build and test habitats in our eco-igloo design challenge. Don't get left out in the cold - come join us for some Frost-y family fun.

Cost: $25 for non-members / $20 for members. Mini-Me Science sessions last approximately 60 minutes, with a 30-minute hands-on activity followed by a 30-minute guided museum exploration in one of our exhibitions. All children must be accompanied by an adult (maximum of two adults per child). For more information, please click here.

Cost is per child (including infants). Children ages two to five only. Museum admission must be purchased separately to participate. Must be logged-in to membership account to receive discount. Older siblings may participate for an additional registration fee per sibling. Walk-up registration on the day of the event is based on space availability.
