Miami Street Food; Fried Chicken

This classic comfort-food has gotten much attention in the past few years, and we are not complaining. Whether eaten hot or cold, fried chicken is extremely satisfying and the perfect dish to eat with your hands. There are varieties on the dish depending on the culture, but all these adaptations provide a fulfilling and gratifying eating experience.

Southern fried chicken

Southern fried chicken is typically brined and dredged in flour seasoned with salt, pepper, and different spices such as garlic powder and paprika. The chicken is fried until golden brown, which provides a crunch when bitten into. This is one of those dishes that tastes just as good cold as when fresh, so take this to go and enjoy while sitting on the beach.

Latin Fried Chicken

Latin fried chicken is different in that it is not deeply dredged in flour. It also uses different spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, oregano and is marinated in lime before frying. The crispiness normally found in fried chicken comes from the frying of the skin instead of the coating, so it is like having pork rinds but in chicken form. Use hot sauce when eating this dish, as it will provide relief from the richness coming from the spices and frying.
