Dine for a good cause from August 16th-19th at Manjay Restaurant. The Caribbean-inspired restaurant located in The Citadel is donating all proceeds from those four days to the Haitian population in need of shelter after a powerful 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Saturday. The earthquake left at least 2,800 people injured, with thousands more displaced from their destroyed or damaged homes. The death toll continues to climb over 1,200 as the search continues for survivors.
Being from Haiti himself, Christian Dominique, the owner of Manjay restaurant has pledged to donate all of his restaurant’s August 16th-19th earnings to help those displaced by the powerful 7.2-magnitude earthquake.
“This is a situation that is very close to my heart. Though our city was spared this time, all the memories and trauma from the 2010 earthquake came rushing back,” said Christian Dominique.
The fine-casual restaurant, located at The Citadel Miami in Little River, has offered its delicious food since 2019. It provides affordable, quality food, which is fast and efficient while honoring its core values of passion and integrity in the food they serve. Manjay is a delightful food experience for all ages and backgrounds who are looking for a delicious hearty meal. Serving something a little more elevated in terms of food and presentation, but still in a fast-paced manner. Manjay looks to celebrate diversity, essentially expressing how excited and happy owners feel to share with the world, through their food, a part of their culture, and themselves.
Christian Dominique, the owner of Manjay, was born and raised in Haiti where he grew up in a hospitality family. His maternal grandfather owned two hotels and two restaurants when he was a kid. Dominique’s hospitality background, as well as his and his wife Sabrina’s love for cooking, sparked the idea to create Manjay. Passionate for food, fun, and people, Manjay (which means food in Haitian Creole) was born! The purpose behind Manjay is to redefine and re-introduce authentic Caribbean cuisine in a modern way but keep its comforting soul-food vibe.
