We walked around Midtown Miami to find a place to have some drinks. It was Friday night and I was with a friend, we were having that moment of "It's Friday, we deserve it." So we walked around but there are not too many options for a drink in Midtown. We looked insde Machiya, a new restaurant in the neighborhood and the bar looked pretty good to us and so we decided to go in.
We ordered some cocktails and the bartender with his very thick accent told me he knew how to do a a lemon drop. I usually do not think vodka but my friend was having a martini and he wanted to cocktail company so I agreed to it.
I looked around the restaurant, the ambiance is very nice. There were about 15 servers walking around, not too many tables with people but hey, this is a new place, they are building their reputation and I hope will be a good one.
My friend decided to order pork dumplings. I was looking into the kitchen, the smells and smoke that came out of it was transporting you to a different world. Miami is starting to know more about Asian cuisine and it shows at Machiya Ramen Noodle House. The pork dumplings were tender and juicy inside. When you cut it with the fork, all of the juices will come out. The rice dough was elastic yet melted in your mouth. The spices blended so well with the pork. The came out super hot and steamy, just what you would expect from kitchens knowing how to do good Asian cuisine.
