Miami’s dining scene is welcoming a new Italian destination this fall as acclaimed chef and restaurateur Giorgio Rapicavoli prepares to open Luca Trattoria in North Beach.
Building on the success of Luca Osteria in Coral Gables, the new restaurant will bring Rapicavoli’s seasonally driven approach to Italian cuisine to Normandy Isles, while introducing subtle touches inspired by its new neighborhood.
Located at 933 Normandy Drive, Luca Trattoria is slated to open in Fall 2026 and will serve as a sister restaurant to the original Luca Osteria.
Rapicavoli, known for his creative approach to Miami dining and his work at Eating House and Luca Osteria, will continue the philosophy that helped establish Luca as a local favorite: thoughtful sourcing, seasonal ingredients, and Italian cuisine with a distinctly modern Miami sensibility.
While Luca Trattoria will remain connected to the original restaurant, the new location will have its own identity shaped by its North Beach surroundings.
Guests can expect a menu centered around Italian cuisine, fresh seasonal ingredients, and carefully sourced products.
The restaurant will stay true to Luca’s founding ethos while allowing the menu to evolve over time. The result is expected to be a dining experience that feels familiar to longtime Luca Osteria fans while offering something new for North Beach diners.
The focus on seasonality will allow the kitchen to highlight ingredients at their peak and introduce dishes that change with the seasons.
The beverage program will bring many of the beloved cocktails that have helped make Luca Osteria a favorite among Miami diners.
The program will continue to evolve under the direction of mixologist and bar manager Eddie Fuentes, adding another layer to the restaurant's dining experience.
Wine will also play an important role. Luca Trattoria's wine list will debut with a more focused yet diverse selection featuring European and Argentine producers, alongside classic Italian wines.
The restaurant's design will carry forward Luca's signature mid-century aesthetic, creating a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.
Warm wood furnishings and gold detailing will complement the design, giving Luca Trattoria a sense of continuity with the original restaurant while establishing its own personality in Normandy Isles.
The combination of Italian cuisine, thoughtful cocktails, wine, and mid-century-inspired design is designed to create a restaurant that feels both polished and inviting.
North Beach has continued to evolve as one of Miami Beach's most interesting neighborhoods for dining, hospitality, and culture. The arrival of Luca Trattoria adds another highly anticipated restaurant to the area.
At 933 Normandy Drive, the restaurant will be located in the heart of Normandy Isles, giving diners another reason to explore this quieter side of Miami Beach.
For fans of Luca Osteria and those looking to discover one of Miami's newest Italian restaurants, Luca Trattoria is certainly a restaurant to keep on the radar this fall.
