Korner 67: International Cuisine and Craft Cocktails in Miami Lakes

Who said success couldn’t be found in the suburbs? Not husband-and-wife team Cesar Olivo and Adriana Perez Benatar. Along with brother-in-law Samuel Perez Benatar, they have been mining gold and delivering trendy, sophisticated food & drink in Aventura since the fall of 2019 with their wildly-popular Reunion Ktchn Bar. Now, the duo who made it possible for Aventura locals to find great internationally-inspired fare and masterfully-executed craft cocktails without hitting the highway are seeking to do the same for locals in the Miami Lakes area with Korner 67. Just opened at 6769 Main Street in the heart of Miami Lakes, Korner 67 (K67) could be described as Reunion’s hip new sister, carrying on some traditions and delivering new delights uniquely her own. What diners and imbibers can expect: a multitudinous world-spanning menu of tapas-offerings, exquisite craft cocktails, polished service, and chic décor and ambiance. “The secret to our success in Aventura has been our loyal local following,” notes Olivo. “Especially during 2020 our regulars became like family and without them we wouldn’t be there today. We loved the Korner 67 space in Miami Lakes and felt a similar vibe and saw an opportunity to bring something exciting and new to a community that we felt would appreciate it.” 

Truthfully, there is nothing like K67 in the area. With no passport required, guests have the opportunity to experience a taste of the globe with a varied menu of internationally-inspired cuisine sure to impress. Executed by Chef Adriana Cisneros, the menu truly has something for every palette and pleasure. Fans of Reunion Ktchn Bar will rejoice to find several signature items on offer including Flaming Greek Saganaki Cheese; Bechamel Conchiglie; Escargot and Coquilles St. Jacques along with Italian staples such as Classic Bolognese; Burrata and Seafood Risotto. In addition, K67 features an array of dishes unique to it including Basil Pesto Shrimp Tagliatelle; Zucchini Carpaccio and Bacalhau Portuguese Stew. “Our menu encourages guests to be adventurous, try something new, and combine different styles of dishes from different destinations or cultures,” adds Perez Benatar. “But beyond the offerings, the heart of the restaurant is the feel we tried to create, Korner 67 as your local corner, your spot to meet, eat, celebrate and enjoy and escape.” 

Food is only half the experience. The bar program, helmed by Head Bartender Luis Cubas, features a robust selection of handcrafted libations. And anyone who has tried the drinks at RKB will tell you; the bar program is legit. The artsy yet unfussy cocktail menu is divided into three categories: Hand-Crafted Cocktails, Culinary Cocktails, and Mocktails.  From the Hand-Crafted Cocktails section, each ingredient is tailored specifically to each cocktail, poured over custom ice in the appropriate glassware, mixed with house-made syrups and completed with a dash of small-batch bitters. Crowd favorites include the Shishito Mule - Green Mark Vodka, shishito cordial, Montenegro, ginger, and lime. On the sweeter side, the London Passion - Porter’s Tropical Old Tom Gin, passionfruit, and tonic. For the sophisticated drinker, Culinary Cocktails run the gamut from savory to sweet. Highlights include: Guav - A - Lady -- Wheatley Vodka, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, guava cordial, mint, lemon; White Truffle Old Fashioned - 1792 Small Batch Bourbon, white truffle honey, chocolate bitters; and Old Tom Garden - Porter’s Tropical Gin, cucumber, rosemary, lemon. Diners craving a non-alcoholic beverage can choose from an impressive selection of zero-proof Mocktails including: Passion Fruit - Thyme and Pineapple - Cinnamon.

Located in the heart of Miami Lakes on Main Street, Korner 67 is perfectly situated for residents and workers to meet up, dine, drink and socialize, with a dense surrounding of residential, retail, and professional properties. The 2,500-square-foot space offers ample indoor seating 94 as well as seating for 232 outdoors on the picturesque patio; K67 also has a private dining room for up to 10 guests. Designed by the owners, the restaurant’s interior portrays a hip and sophisticated, yet tasteful ambiance with a plum color palette, lush greenery, light wood tables, and oak floors, and a shimmering metallic gold bar complemented by modern metal light fixtures throughout.
