We Entered The Splendid, Glowing Yet Cozy Lobby At The Ritz Carlton In Coconut Grove In Pure Anticipation Of The Easter Brunch

Don’t miss the Mother’s Day Brunch!

Mother's Day Brunch in the Grand Ballroom, Sunday, May 8, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Miss Yazz was holding on to her Easter basket tightly while I admired the marble floors and impeccable decor.

“What are we going to eat?” Yazz asks, I say, “It’s going to be a surprise. A marvelous one, I hope.”

We were warmly welcomed by Chef Khaled Ibrahim and his Staff who actually gave us a tour of all the food stations so that we could prepare our taste buds for the feast. Everything looked so tempting, there was something to please any palate.

The Grand Ballroom itself, was massive and elegant with a live trio playing in the background . The waiters were graceful and very attentive, especially to Miss Yazz, my eight year old who was totally fascinated by the whole scene.

First came the Mimosa which was smooth and refreshing. After listening to some of the lovely music, we decided to approach the buffet, this time with a plate in hand.

At the beginning there were the traditional breakfast stations: bread and pastry, fruits and smoothies, scrambled eggs and chunky sausages, omelets made to order with a choice of fillings. For Miss Yazz, life is not worth living without scrambled eggs so she had a plateful of that.

I headed next to the Sushi: beautiful slices of sashimi landed on my plate, accompanied by shrimp dumplings and loads of ginger. Sushi for brunch is always lovely to me. And next to the sushi was.... turkey with a special cranberry sauce and a roast served with au jus. Mouthwatering.

After that we made a beeline to the seafood. So many delights from the sea in one place. Shrimps, crab legs, oysters that tasted like the ocean. Oh boy, I could not wait to get back to my table to taste these delights.

I have to say that I was especially impressed with the careful treatment of the salads. They did not offer anything exotic or fancy, but the taste and subtlety of flavors was quite out of the ordinary. My personal favorites were the Seared Tuna Nicoise Salad, the two variations of Caprese Salad. You can’t go wrong with mozzarella and tomatoes..and to add green onions as a garnish? Wow.

There was also a Charcuterie and Cheese stations and a special section for the kiddies which offered fresh veggies, mac & cheese and chicken nuggets, among other mouth-pleasing items.

Back at our seats, we devoured our food treasures. By this time the Grand Ballroom was buzzing and full of people. Miss Yazz even got a visit from the Easter Bunny right at the table.

Ritz Carlton Desserts

I am not a dessert person but the baby portions allowed us to sample a huge variety of tidbits: Key Lime Pie, Creme Brulee, Fruits Tarts...I have to confess that it was the best part of the meal 🙂

After the feast it was all about Miss Yazz and the Easter Hunt. The kids were treated like royalty here and the ones who participated had a blast.

Remember that these brunches are not just for Easter, they take place every Sunday at the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove.
