Hispanic Heritage Month begins September 15, and InterContinental Miami is celebrating with a lineup of food, art, music and cultural experiences throughout September and October.

The downtown Miami hotel is known for its interactive programming, welcoming both hotel guests and visitors to experience the city’s vibrant culture. This season, InterContinental Miami is highlighting Latin talent and traditions through weekly art events, salsa nights, Latin-inspired happy hours and an immersive Día de los Muertos culinary campaign at Toro Toro.

Located in the heart of Downtown Miami, the hotel offers several ways to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month while enjoying the flavors, sounds and traditions of Latin America.

Noche de Arte Featuring Nelson Alvarez

Throughout September, InterContinental Miami’s Noche de Arte will spotlight local Cuban artist Nelson Alvarez.

Taking place every Monday in September from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the weekly art residency will be held at Gallery 100, located in the hotel’s lobby.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Alvarez is known for his photography, which embraces the principle of “Less is More.” His work focuses on minimal elements, precise composition, limited colors and the use of light as a central part of the image.

Alvarez studied architecture in Havana before earning a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Venice’s School of Architecture. His background in architecture and education continues to influence his artistic approach.

Guests can meet the artist during the residency, explore his work and purchase selected pieces.
