Gnocchi Alla Romana At Salumeria In Midtown Miami

I have been told about this place (even though I live in the neighborhood) by Mirka. A couple of Saturdays ago she came to visit me and we decided to give this place a try. We sat down outside with the heat but it was the evening so it felt okay. Inside the restaurant it was packed and the whole ambiance was very nice. Mirka ordered a classic from the house "salumi" with delicious prosciutto and another ham that had or tasted like truffles.

Gnocchi Alla Romana $13

I ordered their Gnocchi Alla Romana. They were house-made semolina with parmesan cheese and crispy prosciutto. They were good but not too much flavor. I wish there would have been some type of marinara sauce but overall it was a good (small) gnocchi dish. I loved the prosciutto on top and the cheese was of very good quality.

Now the service was exceptional I have to say. Our waiter recommended a good glass of Italian sauvignon blanc which I never order sauvignon blanc from Italy as I really prefer the ones from New Zealand but I really liked the one he recommended.
