GK BISTRONOMIE OFFICIALLY OPEN IN WYNWOOD

Globally Influenced, Peruvian Restaurant and Bar Makes a Splash in the Wynwood Dining Scene

GK Bistronomie in Wynwood is pleased to announce that it has officially opened its doors today, on Friday, October 9th, brining the first Peruvian inspired eatery to the Wynwood Arts District. Helmed by acclaimed Chef and Partner, Rafael Perez, the restaurant and bar concept makes a splash in Wynwood, providing a much needed, elevated dining establishment.

A native of Peru, Executive Chef and Partner, Rafael Perez, comes from a stellar culinary background. For the past 20 years, he has been perfecting his gastronomic techniques, exuding passion and dedication, which are reflected in his epicurean creations. Perez’s culinary talent has been recognized by the world’s most prestigious restaurant and hotel collections. The Relais & Chateaux Guide recognized Zazu, one of Perez’s four Ecuadorian restaurants, as one of the top 300 restaurants in the world, honoring him the title of Grand Chef in the Relais & Chateaux Guide. Under his tenure at The Little Palm Island Resort & Spa in Little Torch Key, the restaurant was voted the third best in the nation and #1 in Florida by Zagat.

GK Bistronomie offers globally inspired Peruvian cuisine, and intricate handcraft libations, in a sleek and stylish setting. The spacious dining room features an exhibition style kitchen, white pine tables, and a unique indoor-outdoor bar made of black granite and iron. The venue features high ceiling walls adorned with various works of art, hand-selected by Perez himself. Upon entry, a duo of paintings by Ecuadorian artist, Elger Aragundi, creates a dramatic backdrop, with color schemes reminiscent of the ocean.

The menu features an array of artfully plated Peruvian inspired ceviches, tiraditos, main dishes and appetizers, delicately composed with harmonious flavors. Guests can indulge in an Aji Amarillo tiradito, made with grouper, fresh lime, cilantro and choclo, or keep it traditional, with a Peruvian Classic ceviche, prepared with corvina, aji limo, sweet potato and chulpi. A diverse selection of main dishes, such as the pan-seared black grouper prepared with shrimp, octopus, clams, mussels and quinoa, provide a savory seafood dish, while the classic Rib Eye, garlic basted with house-made fries and a jalapeno bernaise sauce, offer a simple entrée option.

The impressive cocktail program finds its roots in Peru, with an unique selection of handcraft Pisco infusions, featuring Sours and Chicanos. Patrons can sip on a classic Pisco sour, carefully concocted with fresh squeezed lime, simple syrup, and egg white, or go for a more intricate option like the Guava Chilcano, made with pink guava, cardamom, lime juice, and Fever Tree ginger beer. The bar is also complete with artisanal libations, handcraft beers, and a thoughtfully curated wine list.

GK Bistronomie is open for lunch Monday-Saturday from 11am-4pm, and dinner Monday-Saturday from 6pm-11pm. The restaurant will be open late-night Thursday-Saturday from 11pm-2am. GK Bistronomie will also offer a dynamic daily happy hour from 4pm-7:30pm, with $5 specials, including well drinks, red and white wine, as well as a selection of specially priced bar bites.
