Faena Theater to Debut SAMSARA CABARET: a Journey of Transformation

Faena is pleased to announce Samsara Cabaret, an original experiential production in collaboration with Quixotic, that merges contemporary dance, state-of-the-art technology, projection mapping, and pyrotechnics. Debuting this October in Faena Theater, Samsara Cabaret illustrates the journey of individual transformation and constant reinvention through a series of vignettes set to live music and original arrangements. Samsara Cabaret is in keeping with Faena’s commitment to delivering unparalleled offerings and experiences to Miami Beach.

From timeless ashes emerge new beginnings. Samsara Cabaret follows the story of Artemis, a being made of stardust whose journey to the sun is driven by the dark energy that surrounds her. As she transcends from one dimension to the next, she evolves to find her essence and learns how to harness her powers to transform darkness into light. Inspired by the Sanskrit word "samsara" referencing rebirth, karmic reincarnation and life's constant change, Samsara Cabaret fuses mind-bending illusions, contemporary dance, cirque nouveau, live musical acts, pyrotechnics and more to create an exhilarating theater experience unalike any other. Samsara Cabaret is a journey into a provocative world, featuring alluring acts told through shafts of smoke and light. The show is unique to Faena, and will call guests to leave their old selves behind on a journey of self-discovery and renewal through this mystical cabaret experience.

Faena has brought together a first-class creative artistic team, featuring Christan Squires as Director, Anthony Magliano as Founder & Creative Director, Shane Borth as Musical Director & Arranger, Robert Dekkers as Choreographer, Mika Thomas as Executive Producer, and Hollie Hermes, Wrara Plesoi, and Ali Khemi as Costume Designers. The show also features remarkable talent including Bianca Allanic, Samantha Mixan, Megan Stockman, and Courtney Stohlton as Lead Dancers and Yolo Mayor, Ben Munoz, and EnVee as Lead Musicians.

Samsara Cabaret invites guests, visitors, and locals alike to enjoy a memorable show in a remarkable backdrop. The 3,000 square-foot, 150-seat Faena Theater provides an unmatched venue to enjoy live performances. Designed by Alan Faena, the intimate setting evokes the grand style of European opera houses, juxtaposing it with the glamour of 1950s Miami. The sumptuous space is marked by gold-leaf and red velvet decor, a dramatic curtain, and a gorgeous statement chandelier. Samsara Cabaret will run through May 2019 featuring a 9:00 p.m. show on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and am 8:00 p.m. dinner show on Friday and Saturday.
