ETARU, a restaurant featuring contemporary Japanese Robatayaki cuisine will open its first location in South Florida later this summer in a spectacular oceanfront setting at The Related Group’s Hyde Beach Club in Hallandale Beach, Florida. A second location will open in early 2018 at The Related Group’s ultra-luxury rental Icon Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. Brought to the United States by Rainer Becker, co-founder and creator of Zuma restaurants worldwide and ROKA London, ETARU’s menu revolves around the Robata Grill, a concept which originated with the fisherman of Japan’s Northern coast who charcoal-grilled fish on their boats and shared with one another via outstretched oars.
At its essence, ETARU will be a neighborhood restaurant, welcoming local diners as well as guests and residents with a menu and vibe that embraces its waterfront setting. In a stunning multi-functional space, steps away from the sand, the restaurant will evolve throughout the day and night with a ground level beach club, restaurant and bar. At the site of the former Hyde Beach Kitchen + Cocktails, ETARU Hallandale Beach features floor-to-ceiling glass doors that welcomes the outdoors in with 255 seats equally divided between indoor and al fresco dining.
During the day, the ground level beach bar will offer casual, all day dining with Japanese influences. As the sun sets, the restaurant and bar comes to life, buzzing with the warmth and energy emanating from the centrally located Robata Grill. The beating heart of the restaurant, the grill makes dining at ETARU an immersive, shared experience for guests who will witness the meticulous preparation of each dish, an enjoyable preface to their dinner. Naturally, given the restaurant’s location, there is a heavy emphasis on Robata-grilled seafood; the menu also showcases a wide range of sushi, sashimi, raw dishes, salads, tatakis and tempura, as well as cooked Japanese specialties.
ETARU is located at Hyde Beach Club at 111 South Surf Road in Hallandale Beach. A second location will open in early 2018 at Icon Las Olas at 500 East Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.
