Two familiar names from Miami’s hospitality scene came together when The Sylvester Bar team took over the bar at its sister concept, Beaker & Gray, for a special evening in Wynwood.
Guests could pair cocktails from The Sylvester team with playful bites including Gator Bites, Queso Frito and Key West Pink Shrimp.
The cocktail menu was every bit as creative. Drinks included We Actually Don’t Work Here, made with Grey Goose Essences Watermelon & Basil, snap pea-infused Martini Ambrato, heirloom tomatoes, lemon and seltzer.
Other creations included Iain’s Love Juice with Aberfeldy, coconut, honey, lime, vanilla yoghurt and ginger ale; Don’t Be Weird with Patrón Añejo, Tio Pepe Fino Sherry, pineapple cordial and coconut water; and Bubble Game with Bacardi Superior, strawberry shrub, Carpano Bianco, Campari and seltzer.
The collaboration did not end there. On October 6, the teams reversed roles, with Beaker & Gray taking over The Sylvester bar and serving complimentary bites to guests.

Weekend brunch received a pan-Asian twist with the launch of new à la carte dishes at Tanuki.
The refreshed Weekend Brunch Feast featured some distinctly Tanuki combinations, including Takoyaki Croquetas prepared with octopus, potatoes and chipotle aioli.
Guests could also choose Avocado Toast served on shokupan with kizami wasabi smashed avocado and yuzu juice, or Japanese Pancakes accompanied by shiso, strawberry compote and yuzu curd.
For something heartier, the Sausage, Egg & Cheese brought together Kurobuta sausage, sweet egg and cheddar.
Brunch was available on Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 4 p.m. Diners looking to sample a wider selection could also choose Tanuki’s $49 prix fixe brunch, which included a bottomless selection of starters, a choice of entrée and the chef’s dessert selection.
Miami has built a reputation for making brunch an experience rather than simply another meal, and creative menus like this are one of the reasons weekend dining remains such an important part of the city’s food culture.

Bodega Taqueria y Tequila brought coffee and cocktails together for International Coffee Day at its Coconut Grove mezcaleria.
For the occasion, Bodega partnered with Mr Black to create two speciality drinks available exclusively at the Coconut Grove location.
The Illegal Carajillo combined Ilegal Reposado, Mr Black Coffee Liqueur, Licor 43 and crème de cacao, offering a cocktail-inspired take on the classic coffee drink.
Guests looking for something more straightforward could instead choose the Mr Black Coffee Shot.
Coconut Grove itself has long been one of Miami’s most characterful neighbourhoods, combining leafy streets, waterfront scenery and a thriving restaurant and bar scene.

Food, drinks and football made another popular combination at Bodega Taqueria y Tequila.
Every Sunday during NFL football season, participating Bodega locations screened games while offering a selection of food-and-drink specials.
Offers included $7 draft beers and classic margaritas, alongside $25 draft beer pitchers, classic margarita pitchers and five-beer buckets for $20.
The football specials were available at Bodega locations including Fort Lauderdale, South Beach, West Palm Beach and Coconut Grove.
