We really enjoyed the tour. Not only was the food great (and plentiful), the tour guide (Mirca) gave us a great overview of the history/architecture/culture of South Beach. I wish we had more time later in our trip to return to some of the restaurants! My only critical feedback was that some of the food was a little basic (i.e. penne a la vodka).

Mirka, our tour guide, was a wealth of information and personality. Not only did we learn about the history of Miami/South Beach, but EVERY dish was described in detail and it was delicious. Bring your walking shoes and umbrella. My 3 friends and I all enjoyed the tour and plan to do again on our next Florida trip. Espanola Way was our last stop where we sampled the best gelato ever..it was the perfect way to end the night. This is a must for anyone who enjoys good company and good food....Salud!!

My wife and I went on the tour on the second night of a week-long stay in South Beach. I highly recommend taking this tour at the beginning of your trip because it will introduce you to several hidden gems in South Beach. We went back to several of the restaurants we visited on the tour for full meals during the remainder of our stay (one of them, Bolivar, we went to two additional times, once for dinner, once for 1/2 price sangria happy hour). Some of the spots are touristy, but others are more of the local vibe. Good introduction to Cuban/Latin/Jewish cuisines/restaurants. My wife is Dominican/Ecuadorean and we are from NYC, so we eat our fair share of Latin cuisine, but we found places we might not have normally ventured to otherwise. The architectural and historical aspects of the tour also got us more interested in additional Art Deco tours (we did the self-guided tour provided by the preservation society). Overall, highly recommended!

We have never been on a food tour and did not know what to expect. We enjoyed visiting several restaurants and being able to taste different foods which we would not have been able to do on our own. We enjoyed most of the stops. There was enough food for everyone, so if you do not like some food, you can skip it. We are not from Miami, and thought the tour price was high, but we treated ourselves since we do not do this often.

The foods sampled were excellent. The local knowledge and history of the area were outstanding. This was my third visit to Miami and I'd wished I'd done this tour earlier. I know exactly the restaurants I'll be visiting on my next trip to Miami. Next time I also want to do the Little Havana food tour.

We took the tour our first night in Miami and it was the perfect way to start the trip! Our guide Ritchie was wonderful--funny, knowledgable about the food and the history and culture of Miami, and engaged with the group. The food at every stop was terrific and we subsequently went back to four of the places we visited (and made cafe con leche from David's a daily stop). It was also a lot of food and we were duly sated by the end of the tour. Because my group had some special requirements--my daughter is a vegetrian and my husband doesn't drink--I was concerned about substitutions. The food tour owner called me the morning of the tour to confirm our restrictions and there was absolutely no problem. I recommend it highly to anyone visiting Miami. It allows you to knowledgably identify good eating establishments rather than fall prey to the places on Ocean (or, on Ocean, at least discriminate between the good ones and the tourist traps). Great experience. Well worth the money.
