Concrete Beach is firing up a shiny, new canning line in its Wynwood brewery this month, the first in a craft brewery in the City of Miami.
The inaugural run will produce four-packs of 16-ounce cans of Concrete Beach rich, full-bodied Walls South American Red Ale. It’s brewed with Chilean Patagonia malt, which provides light toffee and caramel notes, balanced by a light citrusy hop aroma and delicate bitterness. Here are the vitals:
Malt Varieties: Chilean malted 2-Row barley and Caramel 190L
Hop Varieties: Tettnang, Cascade
Inspired by the colorful, mural filled walls of Wynwood, Walls has been one of the most popular beers in the Social Hall, available in both CO2 and Nitrogen versions on draft. Beginning November 15, Walls canned 4-packs will be available in select retailers across South Florida, as well as on draft (CO2 version) at the end of the month.
Concrete Beach’s new canning line is unique in that it can produce several different sizes, 8 oz, 12 oz or 16 oz, all from one line. Cans will be produced on a limited basis, with the brewing team carefully selecting the best beer for canning.
It boils down to quality. Beer in a can is not susceptible to ultraviolet rays, which can alter the taste. Cans are fully closed systems that reduce the risk of oxidation or aluminum contamination. Canned beer is easier to cool and safer than glass bottles when you are enjoying life on the beach!
On Thursday, November 19th, the brewery will be celebrating the release of Walls in cans in the Social Hall. In honor of the can release, guests are encouraged to bring in cans of non-perishable food. All food will be donated to the Wynwood Food Bank, just in time for Thanksgiving. The launch will include live music and artists painting on a special CANvas, which will later be sold during Art Basel, with the money being donated to Wynwood Rescue.
Concrete Beach is an artisanal craft beer brewery located in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District. Its mission is to provide great tasting craft beer inspired by the culture and flavors of Miami, all while supporting the community and arts organizations in the neighborhoods they serve. Concrete Beach is part of Alchemy & Science, an independently-operated subsidiary of the Boston Beer Company.
