MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Jan. 21, 2013 — Charles St., a modern bistro featuring internationally inspired, high-quality, affordable fare, along with specialty craft cocktails and a broad selection of wines, is slated to open inside the Boulan South Beach hotel on Feb. 22, 2013. The New York-inspired, 70-seat concept is the brainchild of Maso Hospitality Group founder Ken Ray, who joins Shawn Vardi, Hunter Gellin and Mark Shemel of the New York-based THINK Hospitality real estate company.
“We envision Charles St. as a ‘go-to’ neighborhood spot with a fresh, approachable menu that appeals local men and women,” says Ray, a Miami native and seasoned restaurant operator with nearly two decades of industry experience.
Celebrity chef Todd English is on tap to host the invite-only VIP grand opening celebration, which will serve as a fundraiser for Alonzo & Tracy Mourning’s Mourning Family Foundation. English will team up with chef Wolfgang Birk, Culinary Director at Maso Hospitality Group, to design a special menu specifically for the event.
Designed by the renowned Casa Conde & Associates, Charles St. will boast a timeless style fused with modern elements. Charles St. will be open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night service, with plans in store for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
Located at 2000 Collins Ave., in Miami Beach, Charles St. will be a modern bistro located on the ground-floor of the Boulan South Beach hotel. The restaurant is the first collaborative project by Maso Hospitality Group and THINK Hospitality, which have plans to create additional concepts in South Florida. Helmed by chef Wolfgang Birk, Culinary Director at Maso Hospitality Group, its menu is centered on internationally inspired fare and handcrafted specialty cocktails.
