Bizarre Foods Of America Hits The Magic City

Special Miami Edition of Andrew Zimmern’s Wildly-Popular TV Show to Air July 23, 2012

World traveler Andrew Zimmern, host of Bizarre Foods of America, got a taste of Miami’s multicultural city by mingling with insiders chef Michelle Bernstein and nightlife legend Nicola Siervo, part of an upcoming episode on The Travel Channel airing Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10 p.m. (EST).

The documented program has featured Zimmern consuming unusual dishes from pigeon pie in Morocco to worm pretzels in New York City, so it must have felt like a vacation to dine at El Palacio De Los Jugos with Miami insider and South Florida’s culinary darling, Michelle Bernstein. Recognized for incorporating Latin-style flavors in her cooking, Bernstein was the perfect person to take Zimmern to this Miami staple. In the upcoming episode, viewers will see the two chefs sampling authentic Cuban dishes at the Flagler restaurant.

Viewers can also expect to see Zimmern hit South Beach for a night of partying with nightlife impresario Nicola Siervo, who operates all food & beverage at W South Beach Hotel & Residents and co-owns Quattro on Lincoln Road. Siervo takes Zimmern on a quest to find Miami’s hotspots for nightlife and dining. The after-dark guru and Zimmern start their evening at Andrew Carmellini’s American restaurant, The Dutch, where Zimmern samples roots-inspired dishes such as the watermelon jalapeño Hamachi. After a bite at The Dutch, Siervo introduces Zimmern to South Beach’s sizzling nightlife scene at WALL, the energetic and sophisticated nightclub at the W, where he got a taste of the after-dark scene Miami is known for.
