Batch New Southern Kitchen and Makers Mark are giving away Thousands on Derby Day
Ft. Lauderdale’s hottest new restaurant throws a massive derby party, with cash prize costume contests and three exclusive whiskey releases
Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (April 29, 2022) – On Saturday, May 7, Batch New Southern Kitchen and Tap in Ft. Lauderdale will throw the biggest Kentucky Derby party in South Florida, partnering with Makers Mark to give away thousands of dollars in prizes and releasing three special house-made whiskeys. The fun kicks off when Batch opens at 11 a.m. and runs through the race at 7 p.m. and beyond. Guests are invited to dress in their Derby finest and compete to see who can dress the best.
Batch will bring scores of big-screen projection TVs to its sunny outdoor patio and indoor bar, where the day’s full program of racing will be broadcast live. Those who’ve chosen to dress tet part can compete in contests for best dressed, best hat, and more, with over $1,000 in prizes going to the winners. Guests can also try and pick the Derby trifecta – the first, second, and third place horses – and if they’re successful Batch will reward them with a $1,000 gift card.
“We wanted to make this super interactive and fun. It’s a zero-investment bet,” says Batch Founder and CEO Kevin Danilo. “Churchill Downs can’t even beat that.”
This year’s Derby party will also mark the official release of three new exclusive house-infused whiskeys – Classic Mint Julep, Watermelon Mint Julep, & Chocolate Mint Julep. Each will be available for shots and cocktails, as well as in bottles to take home.
“We’re really excited about these new infusions, it’s an awesome collaboration between ourselves and Maker’s Mark, and part of the proceeds will benefit our favorite charity, Patches PPEC, which supports medically complex children whose families don’t have the means to afford the necessary care.”
