MIXOLOGIST ROBERT MONTERO HOSTS HAPPY HOUR AT BREAD + BUTTER

Happy Hour and Frita Fridays to Offer $3 Batch Cocktails, Half-Priced Beer and Wine, Specially-Priced Food Items and $3 Fritas

Bread + Butter | pan con mantequilla Chef/Owner Alberto Cabrera is joining forces with local celeb mixologist Rob Montero to launch the restaurant’s first ever Happy Hour and Frita Fridays promotion this Friday, April 4, 2014. Imbibers can catch a glimpse of the veteran bartender, who hails from Broken Shaker and Blackbird Ordinary, creating delicious adult concoctions behind the B+B bar for this special onetime guest appearance.

Held from 5:00pm-7:00pm, every Monday–Friday, Bread + Butter’s Happy Hour will offer specially-priced bites, a $3 Cocktail of the Week and half-priced wines and draft beers. On Friday evenings, guests also can sink their teeth into $3 Fritas during the Frita Fridays promotion, offered weekly from 5:00pm-7:00pm, in conjunction with the regular Happy Hour.

Cabrera’s Monday-Friday Happy Hour menu offers $3, $4 and $5 snacks, including B+B Pickles; Hialeah-Style Warm Peanut Cones; Chilindron de Chivo Empanadas with goat cheese cream, dry apricot chimmichuri and coriander leaves; Toston Tostadas topped with chicharrones, refried black beans, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, onion and Cotija cheese; a juicy Double Bacon Frita with American cheese, onions, B+B pickles, mustard, ketchup and papitas; Fried Chicken Thighs drizzled with Buffalo honey sauce and served alongside buttermilk drop biscuits; and Big Al’s Beef Jerky – housemade jerky served with crispy shallots and Korean chili.

From the bar, a special Batch Cocktail of the Week will offer imbibers $3 glasses of the specially formulated wine and beer batch libations.

Opened early 2013, Bread + Butter | pan con mantequilla is the culmination of Cabrera’s Cuban-American roots, his vast professional experience and present day Miami life. A labor of love located in the heart of Coral Gables, the hip gastropub meets old-school Cuban eatery is a trendy homage to Miami, in both its dishes and culture, creating the perfect marriage of authentic Cuban cuisine and modern American ritual. Open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, Cabrera and his team create nearly everything in-house from scratch using traditional Cuban recipes with modern ingredients and techniques. Some signatures include dishes such as Platano en Tentacion pieces of ripe sweet plantains wrapped in housemade bacon and sitting in five-spice almibar (syrup) with sour cream and chives; the Frita China – an Asian-inspired mini-burger of house-ground chorizo and beef topped with Napa cabbage, kimchi, cilantro, onion, potato strings and Sriracha ketchup; and the Chicharron de Puerco (fried pork skin) served with truffle-black bean puree, maduro (sweet plantain) relish and puffed rice.
