Awaiting Discovery
The newest culinary service to hit South Florida, Miami Culinary Tours (MCT) is a company that offers outings to explore the area’s restaurants as well as the culture and history of the neighborhoods they are in. Think of the tours as multi-course meals with each course taking place at a different location. Along the way, a tour guide offers insight on the food consumed, the restaurants visited and the areas said restaurants are located in. Two of the MCT’s current tours include Cuba Bonita Food Tour, which visits a number of Cuban eateries in Little Havana and Key Biscayne (starting with coffee and finishing with a mojito) and the South Beach Walking Food Tour, which explores the Art Deco district of South Beach on foot and stops at various locations for bites of fusion cuisine.

Miami Culinary Tour
We had contacted Miami Culinary Tours prior to our trip to see about booking a tour of the different Miami neighborhoods with the main focus being the Cuban cuisine. Sadly we discovered they only offer the tours on Friday-Sunday. We asked to see if they knew of any other options for the beginning of the week. We were pleasantly surprised when they got back with us and said that they could do a private tour customized for two traveling chefs from Minnesota. Continue reading full story
